BREAKING NEWS!! Rapper, DMX Passes On At 50

Posted by on April 10, 2021 0

American rapper, Earl Simmons, popularly known as DMX has reportedly passed on according to a statement released by the family on Friday, 9th April 2021.

Recall, the rapper was reported to be admitted at a New York hospital following a sudden heart attack on Friday, 2nd April. Yesterday, news emerged about the demise of the rapper but, his management came out to debunk the rumor but revealed the rapper is in a critical condition. DMX was known to be one of the greatest rappers in the hip-hop fraternity. With his first studio album, “It’s Dark and Hell is Hot,” which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart in 1998, DMX made a splash in rap music. Several hits from the multiplatinum album included “Ruff Ryders’ Anthem,” “Get At Me Dog,” and “Stop Being Greedy.” Aside from these, the rapper has also had some other four albums which topped charts. These albums are “…And Then There Was X,” “Flesh of My Flesh, Blood of My Blood,” “The Great Depression” and “Grand Champ.”

For the record, DMX has released seven albums and has earned three nominations in the Grammy Awards. Aside from being recognized as one of the best rappers in HipHop, DMX also started a career in the movie industry. He starred in most of Hollywood’s top movies along with other great names in the industry. He starred in the 1998 film “Belly” and appeared in “Romeo Must Die” a couple of years later with Jet Li and the late singer Aaliyah. DMX and Aaliyah teamed up for the film’s soundtrack song “Come Back in One Piece.” He also starred in  “Exit Wounds” with Steven Seagal and “Cradle 2 the Grave” with Li. In 2019, the rapper was admitted to a rehabilitation facility following his battle with substance abuse. This led to the cancellation of shows which he later apologized to his fans for the inconvenience.

In 2017, he pleaded guilty to tax fraud, in what prosecutors called a “multi-year scheme to conceal millions of dollars” from the IRS. He served one year in prison. Last year, the rapper was able to gain 500,000 views on YouTube when he faced off Snoop Dogg in a Verzuz battle.
