On Friday, November 10, 2023, Sanderson made an appearance before the Kabokweni Magistrates’ Court to answer to charges of murder and subverting the course of justice.

On November 9, 2023, Albert’s body was excavated in their Swalalala, Mpumalanga, home near White River.

On November 6, 2023, the accused and the deceased are said to have gotten into a fight after the deceased chastised the accused for inviting other women to his home. The deceased fell to the ground and was punched by him. After that, he laid him to rest in a small grave in the rear of the home.

The accused informed the court during his appearance that he would handle his own defense and that, should he choose to do otherwise, he would not be filing any applications for bail.
